Classification:

The Wine Maker

Tel: 0173/635158 Fax: 0173/635256

Characteristics

After the wine-making and fermentation at tightly controlled temperatures, the wine is aged in 225-liter barrels and later in glass. The result is a near-perfect wine, with the right amount of tannin and a good balance, an intense and penetrating aroma, while being dry and refined to the palate.

The wine is best if purchased well before consumption. It should be placed in a crystal decanter and served with rich dishes (e.g., roasts and wild-game, but also aged cheeses). Also, if correctly preserved, this wine will improve with age for several years.

"Barolo Bricco Rocche Ceretto"

Classification:

D.O.C.G.

Grapes:

Two varieties of Nebbiolo, Michet and Lampia, vine-grown in the winery Bricco Rocche in La Morra di Catiglione Falletto (CN).

Wine Maker

Aziende Vitivinicole Ceretto
Località san Cassiano 34, Alba (CN)
Tel: 0173/282582 Fax: 0173/282383

Characteristics

A brief maceration of the grapes follows the de-wining and the malolactic fermentation, and then the wine is barrel aged. This wine-making process is a trademark of the Azienda Ceretto, and allows the consumer to have the product after only two years of glass aging. As a result, the wine enjoys a longer life of approximately 14 or 15 years.

The Barolo Bricco Rocche Ceretto has a grananulated red color and a aroma that is strong and long-lasting. Dry and harmonic, this wine is quite subdued and goes quite well with a great variety of dishes.

With an intense color, persistent aroma and great personality, it is a wine with great body. It remains, however, elegant, dry, and perfectly balanced, so it can work splendidly with dishes that use meat sauces, beef fillets, large roasts, wild game, and aged cheeses.

"Recioto Amarone della Valpolicella Bertani"

Classification:

D.O.C.

Grapes:

Corvina, Molinara, Rondinella, and other typical Valpolicella grapes.

Wine Maker

Casa Vinicola Bertani s.p.a.
Località Novare, 37020 Arbizzano di Negrar (VR)

Characteristics

The grapes are harvested towards the end of September and are left to dry for several months. Then the red wine-making process begins and the wine is aged for a long period, first in Slavonian oak barrels and then in bottles. The Bertani wineries let their wines mature for a period twice as long as the minimum of four years observed by most wineries.

L'Amarone Bertani has a granulated and intense yet light brick-like color and a highly pronounced smell in which one can discern plum, blackberries, and ergiot.

The wine has a full and strong body with good substance, but is soft, harmonious, and fascinating in a certain way.

This wine should be bought well before consumption and served above 16 degrees celsius. It makes an excellent complement for stews, meat-based main dishes and aged cheeses.

If stored correctly, this wine can be profitably aged for more than 10 years.
